Under the watchful eye of Master Distiller, Richard Paterson, the liquid began to mature in an American white oak barrel previously filled with Kentucky bourbon. This first aging gave the single malt a unique base of vanilla, ginger and mango. After 10 long years in cask, the whiskey was transferred to a Tawny Port cask of exceptional quality. It is in Portugal that he will rest for nine more years. This second maturation will give the whiskey seductive notes of candied orange, bitter chocolate and plums.
